Participant Engagement Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Participant Engagement & Business Development Coordinator is a strategic revenue-growth and stakeholder engagement role responsible for expanding GCNSA’s footprint in the private sector. The role focuses on acquiring new business participants, building a strong pipeline of prospects, and driving sustained engagement that enhances retention and value creation.
This position plays a pivotal role in advancing GCNSA’s mandate by proactively identifying growth opportunities, nurturing high-value corporate relationships, and ensuring participants maximise the benefits of their involvement. The coordinator will work closely with the global Outreach & Participant Engagement team to support alignment with global targets, optimise messaging, and strengthen GCNSA’s market positioning.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Business Development, Growth & Outreach
  • Support the development and implementation of GCNSA’s participant acquisition and growth strategy.
  • Conduct targeted outreach to priority sectors, high-value companies, and strategic
  • Prepare compelling business development materials, presentations, and proposals tailored to prospective participants.
  • Coordinate external engagements, roadshows, and partnership opportunities to enhance market visibility.
  • Clearly articulate the value proposition of the UN Global Compact to decision-makers, converting interest into new memberships.

2. Pipeline & Prospect Management

  • Develop, maintain, and grow a healthy prospect pipeline aligned with GCNSA revenue and growth targets.
  • Perform due diligence and vetting of prospective companies in line with UNGC
  • Ensure structured follow-up, relationship nurturing, and timely conversion from prospect to fully onboarded participant.
  • Track progress against monthly and quarterly acquisition targets, providing insights into pipeline performance.

3. Participant Engagement, Value Delivery & Retention

  • Build strong and trust-based relationships with participants and sustainability
  • Understand participant priorities and recommend relevant tools, platforms, training, programmes, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate onboarding sessions, orientation workshops, and engagement briefings to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Provide high-quality ongoing support, including applications, COP guidance, logo approvals, portal updates, and general participant queries.
  • Strengthen participant retention by ensuring they experience measurable value and alignment with GCNSA offerings.

4. Data, Reporting & Systems

  • Maintain accurate and updated records on Salesforce CRM and internal
  • Track outreach, onboarding, engagement, and retention metrics to support strategic decision-
  • Prepare regular reports for internal leadership, including insights on growth trends, pipeline performance, market opportunities, and participant satisfaction.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategy, anticipate risks, and recommend improvements to participant services.

5. Marketing & Communications Support

  • Work with the Communications team to develop targeted campaigns that position GCNSA as an essential sustainability partner.
  • Use GCNSA channels to amplify engagement opportunities and highlight participant
  • Contribute to messaging, content development, and digital outreach that support participant acquisition and retention.

6. General

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support delivery of GCNSA programmes, events, and strategic initiatives.
  • Represent GCNSA professionally in external engagements, maintaining the highest standard of integrity and diplomacy.

Requirements:

  • An advanced degree in Business Sciences, Economics, Management, Marketing, or related
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development, sales, key account management, or corporate engagement.
  • Proven track record of meeting growth targets, managing sales pipelines, or converting leads into revenue.
  • Excellent client relationship, communication, and negotiation skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and stakeholder engagement
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and translate insights into strategic
  • Knowledge of and passion for corporate sustainability/ESG is an
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
