Written by: Sandton Chronical

The UN Global Compact Network South Africa (UNGCNSA), in partnership with Alexforbes, hosted its annual Young Professionals, Business and Innovation Conference on 28 February, bringing together more than 100 young professionals and business leaders. The conference focused on empowering young professionals to drive innovative, SDG-aligned solutions and highlighted the critical role of youth in advancing inclusive and sustainable business practices.

Discussions emphasised the importance of investing in young talent as drivers of innovation within the private sector, with particular reference to the impact of the SDG Innovation Accelerator, which has supported over 140 innovators from 35 South African companies in developing scalable sustainability solutions. The conference also reinforced the value of partnerships between business and the UN Global Compact in integrating sustainability into core operations and strengthening the next generation of leaders.

The event served as a collaborative platform for knowledge-sharing, innovation and collective action towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
